$100k up for grabs for Africa’s youngest entrepereneurs
Applications for the Anisha Prize, now in its sixth edition, have opened with total prize money now worth US$100 000.
The competition, which is a collaboration between the African Leadership Academy and the MasterCard Foundation, aims to identify 12 of Africa’s “most innovative social and business entrepreneurs under the age of 22”.

Every year, for the past six years, Vodacom has selected around 20 volunteers to work for a non-profit organisation (NPO) of their choice for a year. There is no cost to the individual or the host organisation.
MTN South Africa has appointed Benjamin Marais as its new Chief Information Officer, effective 01 March. Marais joins MTN from Discovery Health where he served in a similar role. Marais has experience in the banking, health and digital space and is a qualified engineer. He has worked across the continent, in the United Kingdom and in the Middle East.

Orange is launching the Entrepreneur Club, a new space for information in French and English devoted to entrepreneurs in Africa and the Middle East.
The website is a source of information for entrepreneurs that puts them in touch with a variety of instruments from Orange that support entrepreneurship. The Entrepreneur Club also provides practical information and tools for company creation. Orange supports start-ups in Africa and the Middle East

For the 12th time, Deutsche Welle issues the call for entries to its online contest "The Bobs – Best of Online Activism." The awards honor exemplary efforts to promote online freedom of expression and civil society. DW is also awarding the Freedom of Speech Award.
