One Channel Botswana acquires top technical skills
As part of its future growth strategy, One Channel Botswana has announced that it is acquiring top industry skills. The company has appointed Obakeng Modiakgotla, former Botswana Savings Bank analyst programmer, as its technical expert and senior consultant.
One Channel Botswana's CEO, Motshubi Sebina says Modiakgotla is a highly experienced and competent technical expert. "We are excited to have him on our team, he possesses exceptional skills in network management, development and Accpac support."
Zimbwabwe’s Social Entrepreneurship Bootcamp calls for entries
Zimbabwe’s Social Entrepreneurship bootcamp is on and now all social entrepreneurs are clled upon to submit their entries for the six-month structured bootcamp where they will gain the skills, tools and on completion may receive initial capital needed to launch a successful social enterprise.
Additionally, they will get access to local and international experts to help entrepreneurs across Zimbabwe develop a solid business model.
7 start-ups built on Ampion Venture Bus in Tunisia
The Ampion Venture Bus Tunisia 2014 competition took place from December 14-19 and took aspiring Tunisian and international entrepreneurs to coaching sessions in Tunis, Kairouane, Tozeur, Gabes, Sfax and Hammamet.
Seven start-ups have emerged from the Ampion Venture Bus in Tunisia during 2014. After the Grand Final at Tunisia’s university ESPRIT, a jury of high-level investors, bankers and decision makers from the Maghreb region crowned the eventual winners TrashCash, ExTails and Citizen+.
Airtel Africa has announced the appointments of Farhad Khan as Chief Commercial Officer and Daddy Mukadi Bujitu as Chief Regulatory Officer. Khan will join Airtel from the MTN Group. His most recent role was at MTN South Africa, where he held the position of chief sales and distribution officer since August 2013.
SWIFT To Unveil Africa’s Brightest FinTech Startups
The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication’s (SWIFT) will convene policy makers, industry leaders and the broader financial community across Africa in its African Regional Conference (ARC) 2015 from 5-7 May 2015 in Cape Town, South Africa.
ARC will for the first time partner with Innotribe, SWIFT’s financial technology innovation initiative, to bring Innotribe’s fintech Startup Challenge to Africa.
