NOVELL RELEASES NEW NETWARE, SMALL BUSINESS SUITE

Novell made a series of operating system and e-business announcements at NetWorld+Interop in Atlanta, including detailing a new version of the company’s flagship NetWare operating system, a new version of its Small Business Suite and deals with both Compaq and Yahoo.

MICROSOFT STICKS WITH FLASH IN WINDOWS XP

The Flash player is a free plug-in that allows an Internet browser, such as Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, to view animated cartoons or dynamic Web sites created with Macromedia’s Flash technology.

W3C ISSUES SCALABLE VECTOR GRAPHICS SPEC

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) released its recommendation of a graphics language that allows Web designers to create two-dimensional vector graphics and exchange them between platforms.
