- A TV advertisement promoting condom use in Kenya has been withdrawn after an outcry by religious leaders, health official Peter Cherutich has said. Christian and Muslim clerics said the advert encouraged infidelity, rather than safe sex to curb HIV/Aids. Full story here

- CNBC Africa’s reality-competition television series, 'TOP TRADER' is back. For all those budding traders who wish to enter the completion, simply log on to the Sanlam iTrade website and register with Top Trader and trade virtually in order to be selected to enter the Top Trader reality show on CNBC Africa. The top 30 Top traders (from the online competition) as well as 20 wildcards will be invited to send in video motivations for ultimate selection in the Top Trader challenge on CNBC.

- In June, Japan International Broadcasting Inc. (NHK WORLD TV) will showcase a music programme that highlights the intense rhythms and dynamic sounds of the African drums. The host, Anyango, is a Japanese who plays the traditional Kenyan stringed instrument the nyatiti. In this program, Anyango gets together with some top musicians to perform and to share their impressions of African music. Guests: Kazumi Watanabe (jazz guitar), Kaori Muraji (classical guitar), Fresh Jumbe (singer).
