DRC: Catholic TV station RTCE will start operations in December 2008
The new catholic television station RTCE which will be based in the Centre Béthanie in Gombe will be inaugurated by Mgr Laurent Monsengwo Pasinya, the Archbishop of Kinshasa, according to ACP.
The opening date was given by Claude Ntumba Kashiba, Co-ordinator of channel during a guided tour by the Commission for Mass Media conducted by its President Tabassenge Bakiya.
Equipment for the new station has been imported from Italy and it hopes to become one of the leading private missionary channels in the country. It will broadcast to DRC’s capital Kinshasa and neighbouring places including Kikwit, Mbanza-Ngungu and Congo-Brazzaville. The objectives of the channel are focused on Christianity and education.
