* Uganda’s broadcasting council last Tuesday lifted the suspension of Ssuubi FM. The radio was closed three months ago over inciting violence in parts of Buganda kingdom. Godfrey Mutabazi, the council chairperson, announced the re-opening in a statement in which he also listed the conditions for the radio's operations. On the September 11, the council suspended the operations of Ssuubi FM alongside Sapientia, Akaboozi ku Bbiri and CBS radios over inciting riots.
*For two children in South Africa the first week at school was more than memorable; it was spectacular - as both won helicopter rides to school courtesy of radio stations Heart 104.9FM and OFM.In Cape Town, Liam Cupido and his mother Karen beat the first day fears with a helicopter ride to school accompanied by Heart 104.9FM on-air presenter Julian Naidoo. Liam's mom won this by entering the Ackermans First Day Fly In competition on Heart 104.9FM.
