- In South Africa, two broadcasters face the challenge of finding the right business model to monetize Mobile TV Content. Cellular network operators and television broadcasters MultiChoice and e.tv who recently received their licences need to launch their offers within the next 12 months, according Icasa. However, a 2009 survey revealed that only 15 percent of cellphone users would be willing to pay for mobile TV. Service providers will need to turn to advertising as a main source of revenue and it will take about six years for mobile TV to become a viable business.
