CELTEL LAUNCHES PRE-PAY AT LOCAL RATES BETWEEN CONGO-BRAZAVILLE AND DRC
There is now a pre-paid mobile service between the two Congos. The DG of Celtel-Congo officially launched the service on 26 November with the DRC Minister of Post and Telecommunications Jean Dello. The link between Brazaville and Kinshasa was authorised in 2002 and Celtel played a key role in getting it operational but until now it has remained post-paid. Using the 133*1 code DRC residents can call Brazaville at local rates. Likewise from Congo-Brazaville using the 133*2 code can also make calls to Kinshasa at local rates.
In due course the service will cover a range of places including: Pointe-Noire, Dolisie, Nkayi, Ouesso, Mossendjo, Makabana, Madingou, Gamboma, Oyo, Ollombo, Owando, Impfondo, Kinkala, Loutété, Diosso, Mouyondi, Mbinda, Makoua, Boundji, Pokola.
