DAKAR AIRPORT LAUNCHES A WI-FI HOT-SPOT
Dakar Airport is offering a free test of its Wi-Fi hot-spot until its full commercial launch on Monday 6 February. However the “postes installes” were nowhere to be seen and the signal in departure was so weak on Wednesday afternoon last week that it was unusable. However things were better on Friday evening but there were still enormous variations in downloading speeds. Download capacity must have been limited as it is perfectly possible in Senegal to get blisteringly impressive download speeds from "hot-spots" No prices for use when it goes "pay-for" have yet been announced. Neighbouring Gambia which does not yet have any "hot-spots" is planning to set them up for the African Union Summit in July this year.
