*There is growing uncertainty among senior Telkom officials about the future of the group’s chairman, Jeff Molobela. Senior Telkom sources say Molobela’s contract as chairman expired at the end of last week and has not been renewed.

*MTN SA is losing its highly respected chief technology officer, Sameer Dave, who will depart his post next month when his three-year contract comes to an end. Dave, who was headhunted from Indonesia’s Maxis Telecom by MTN group CEO Phuthuma Nhleko, says his contract expires in mid-December, and he’s keen to take on a more strategic role in the telecommunications industry. In the role, Dave has overseen tens of billions of rand in network spending for MTN SA.
Long-standing MTN executive Lambo Kagaratham, who is currently GM for technology at group level, will replace Dave as MTN SA technology head.

*Bharti Airtel has named Ms Tay Kim Lee as the director of Internal Assurance while Eben Albertyn will take up the Chief Technical Officer's role.

* Azzam Shaty and will move to a new position of chairman of the board of Libercell. Meanwhile, a new Libercom CEO has been appointed in the shape of Bachar Saghir.

*Themba Dlamini, deputy director-general for corporate services at the department of science & technology, has been appointed as the new CEO of the Independent Communications Authority of SA (Icasa).

*Mi-Fone (BVI) Ltd the commercial entity behind the successful “Mi” brand of mobile devices today announced the appointment of its new chairperson Mohamed Amersi, who brings with him a wealth of business and industry experience.
