Airtel Africa appoints Kossowski as CIO

Airtel Africa announced the appointment of Andrew Kossowski as Chief Information Officer. Kossowski joins Airtel Africa from Ericsson where he served as Vice President-Operations for Latin America and the Caribbean. He previously worked at NII Holdings (Nextel) as the Director of Global Programs where he led the initial market deployment of 3G systems, post-paid and pre-paid modernization. Airtel Africa CEO Christian de Faria said that Kossowski, whose appointment will take effect 15 May, will be a key part of driving Airtel's IT strategy, whilst building stronger collaborative governance relationships with partners. Kossowski takes over from George Fanthome.
