Kenya: Access Kenya Completes Network Upgrade in Nairobi, Nakuru and Thika

Access Kenya has completed network upgrade in Nairobi, Nakuru and Thika as part of increasing business connectivity.

The chief technical officer Raymond Macharia said the upgrade is part of Sh300 million investment that will see Access Kenya cover 18 major towns with fiber connectivity and enhanced bandwidth by 2016.

"The number of enterprises and county-reliant businesses that need high speed connectivity and other related solutions has been on the rise and this has been exerting a strain on existing resources. That's why we are widening our network footprint," he said.

He said the upgrade will consolidate functions by reducing the number of devices used in the transmission of data into fewer and more powerful devices.
