DotconnectAfrica Opens Applications for its $5000 Grant Competition for African women in STEM

DotconnectAfrica (DCA), a non-profit organization, has opened applications for Miss Africa $5000 competition to support women and girls in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.

“The 2015 Seed Grant for the amount of Five Thousand US dollars ($5,000) will assist the winning initiative to start or expand their capacity,” DCA states on its website. “The program is interested in learning about successful activities that are currently supporting women and girls in STEM, and through this effort, we identify how we might support scalability and their impacts.”

Projects eligible for the grant include computer science workshops/trainings for women and girls and early incubation of female tech entrepreneurs. To be eligible for the grant, applicants must meet the following criteria. Please click her to view the criteria

Applications will close November 15, 2015 while the first round of grants will be announced by the first quarter of 2016.
