Rack Centre Appoints Mr. Frederick Udoaka as New Business Development Director

Rack Centre, West Africa’s Premium Data Centre colocation provider has announced Mr Frederick Udoaka as joining its Executive Leadership Team as Business Development Director. Udoaka joined from MTN Nigeria where he was the Chief Enterprise Business Officer for MTN Business.  He brings over 25 years leadership in IT delivery, sales and business development across an impressive range of blue chip multinationals in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Prior to joining MTN Nigeria,  Udoaka was the Sales Director of Oracle Systems, West & Central Africa, Business Development Executive, IBM, Middle East & Africa, Country General Manager, IBM West Africa and Marketing Manager, IBM, UK & Ireland.  He also worked as a Business Systems Consultant at Shell Services International, UK and The Netherlands.

Former Access Kenya Deputy CEO Kris Senanu to head Telkom Kenya’s Enterprise Division

A few weeks ago, France Telkom Orange completed the sale of its 70% stake in Telkom Kenya. Helios Investment Partners acquired 60% of the company with the Kenya government increasing its stake in the firm to 40% with the acquisition of the other 10%. Helios hit the ground running and unveiled a new management team headed by Aldo Mareuse, a 52-year old Frenchman. Aldo previously worked as managing partner for Accelero Capital, a telecoms fund and CFO of Orascom Telecom Holding and Wind Telecom Holding.

The company also unveiled its new organizational structure which comprised of four units. These include the Mobile Division, Fixed/Enterprise Division, Wholesale Division and Real Estate Division. The Mobile business division it was announced will be headed by Amer Atwi, who previously served as Managing director of Gambian telco COMIUM. George Mokogi, the company’s current Chief Carrier Services Officer was annonced as head of the wholesale division while the Fixed and Retail divisions heads were to be announced later.

Telkom has now made new appointments, with former Access Kenya Deputy CEO Kris Senanu as the MD of its Enterprise Division, effective Monday, August 1, 2016. The Enterprise Division comes up as a result of a name change from the initially announced structure that had identified the unit as the Fixed Division. In the new structure, Fixed Division will now be known as the Enterprise Division, while the Wholesale Division will now be known as the Carrier Services Division.

Senanu announced his exit from Internet Solutions Kenya (previously known as Access Kenya Group) earlier this year. Kris joined Access Kenya as commercial manager in 2001 and rose to Chief Operating Office in 2005 and Managing director of the internet division before taking over as deputy CEO following the acqusition of Access Kenya by Dimension Data.  Senanu chairs the country’s Domain registry institution – Kenya Network Information Center (KENIC) and the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) Business Committee. He also previously served as chair of the Telecommunications Service Providers of Kenya.
