Togo inaugurates its first IXP to reduce costs

Togo has inaugurated its first point Internet Exchange (IXP) which should enable interconnect Internet providers (DO) in order to reduce the cost of internet connection.

Reforms in the digital sector continue in Togo. A few weeks after it issued two licenses for Internet service providers, the Ministry of Post and the Digital Economy has officially opened the first point Internet Exchange (IXP). This coming from the West African regional program of development of communication infrastructure (WARCIP), funded by the World Bank 30 US $ millions, will allow Internet service providers to interconnect, in one place, and exchange Internet traffic between their networks through mutual agreements.
