The Djibouti Data Center (DDC) is Selected by China Mobile International Limited (CMI) for Pan African Expansion

Djibouti City, Djibouti - September 4, 2017 – China Mobile International Limited the subsidiary of China Mobile Limited, responsible for its international business, has selected the Djibouti Data Center (DDC) to help facilitate its global network expansion, colocation and undersea fiber cable access services in east Africa.

With the DDC’s data center ecosystem and CMI’s network resources, CMI has marked its first step to access Africa, and will further enrich its global network resources in Pan Africa international business to meet the growing demands in the international telecommunications market.

The DDC will support China Mobile International to establish cable head access, cross-connect, and colocation facilities directly adjacent to Djibouti Telecom’s cable landing station. The DDC is uniquely positioned just meters from the Djibouti Telecom international fiber cable landing station, and stands out as a reliable and cost-effective gateway hub to many of the fastest growing markets and service providers in Africa.

The Djibouti Data Center (DDC) is the first and only Tier 3 carrier-neutral data center ecosystem in east Africa with direct access to all major international and regional fiber optic systems connecting Europe, the Middle East, and Asia markets with Africa – including AAE1 and SeaMeWe5.
