Nigeria: Nigeria Football Association and DAAR in US$2.1 M rights deal


DAAR Communication, owners of AIT and Ray Power Radio signed a N250 million (US$2.1 million) rights deal with the Nigeria Football Association.

The Association’s Ojo Oba said the current board inherited a television contract that should have been dispensed with year before, but because the board did not want to be dragged into long litigation, it decided to exercise patient and waited for the right time.

He said ' this is surely the beginning of a long and mutually beneficial relationship that will bring the Nigeria national team back to the home of passionate Nigerian fans.' Dokpesi said the partnership would hasten the growth and development of both the Nigerian and African football.
