- Old Location Films is a brand new production company under the direction of young Namibian filmmakers Perivi Katjavivi and Horst Zaire. Their first script, 'The Shop', was selected, along with three other scripts, by the Wild Cinema organisation in Windhoek to receive a grant of N$50 000 for the production of a five- to ten-minute film.

- Discovery Channel on DStv has been ranked the most trusted brand according to the Brand Trust Index 2007, Discovery Networks EMEA announced earlier this week. Discovery Channel ranked higher than many well-known local and international brands in the survey, which was conducted last year by Ipsos Markinor through 3500 face-to-face interviews.

- A four film slate deal has been concluded between Cape Town-based Rogue Star Films, and the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF). The films, to be made for less than R3m, will be produced over a period of three years.

- Jeremy Holden of Riverstone Films has recently completed the launch commercial for Neotel, South Africa's second fixed line operator. The commercial features live action sequences seamlessly combined with computer generated imagery. Live action scenes where shot on location in Durban.
