Representatives from the Nigerian Actors Guild are expected in Zimbabwe this weekend to seal a deal on the production of a joint movie featuring Nollywood and Zimbabwe's (Zollywood's) best actors and actresses by Trust Khosa Dubbed the Zimbabwe I Know, the movie will be screened in more than 50 African states and beyond. Amarachi George Okeke, a Nigerian businessman and financier who brokered the deal, said a high powered delegation from GNU, will arrive either on Saturday or Sunday.

"Oketex Investments is behind the production of this first ever movie featuring actors and actresses from Nollywood and Zollywood and we want to seal the deal this weekend. The President of GNU will be coming in the company of some top Nigerian actors and once the deal is sealed shooting will then commence and we are also working with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority on this project," he said.

AG -- as Okeke is affectionately known -- said the joint venture between Nollywood and Zollywood was also meant to cement the already existing sound ties between Harare and Abuja. "If the Americans have made it in film, why can't Nigeria and Zimbabwe do the same. Of course some Nigerian actors have had a lot of exposure as compared to the locals but there is need for us to blend the talent we have in Nollyhood with that of Zollywood from this noble cause," he explained.

Okeke said the project was also meant to market Zimbabwe to coincide with preparations for the 2010 World Cupo to be held in South Africa.
