The community channel has now been granted its broadcasting licence by ICASA and will be broadcasting for another year from October 1, 2008 till September 30, 2009.

Force Khashane, chairman of the Soweto TV said, “It’s wonderful news. We regard the issuing of the licence as an inspiration to our team to perform even better than last year. We would like to thank ICASA and our viewers for the good support they have given us since Soweto Community TV was launched. We would do everything in our power not to let them down.”

The channel has assured its loyal viewers that it will continue to provide top quality shows. As from next week the channel will be boasting some new shows, new sets, and new presenters. Soweto TV will become a more funky station. The channel is broadcast on DSTV channel 150.
