- A Capital radio talk show host in Uganda has been summoned over allegations that sectarian statements were made on his show, The Capital Gang. Oskar Ssemweya, the head teacher of Taibah College in Entebbe, will today report to the CID head office along with Meddie Nsereko of Central Broadcasting Service, a Mengo based radio station.

- The SABC is in the process of setting up the office of a complaints officer who will deal with all complaints submitted in writing by political parties within 72 hours of submission, it announced yesterday, Thursday, 6 November 2008. This follows a special meeting of the SABC Board News Committee held in Johannesburg yesterday, in which the board reaffirmed its commitment to its news division's unfettered editorial independence.
