- The moment of reckoning for young comedic talent has just arrived for those that took place in the TV comedy show The Fanta So You Think You’re Funny, which runs on SABC1. A champion will be crowned on Sunday, February 3. Reality Television has become a feature of programming the world over, from Survivor to The Apprentice to Strictly Come Dancing and the Last Comic StandingSouth Africa’s newest reality show, The Fanta – So You Think You’re Funny talent search aims to unearth budding comic talent.

- Shaka Zulu remains one of the most revered and formidable leaders of the Zulu nation. It is this story that will be told about this feared, yet respected leader, on Shaka Zulu, a documentary that will be flighted on DStv’s channel 254.

- As at 18 January, the new South African Afrikaans-language film Vaatjie Sien sy Gat had made R1.9m at the local box office.

-The sequel to South Africa’s previously highest ever grossing local film, Mr Bones, has superseded the record set by that film which was released in 2001 and earned R33,062,468 in a period of five weeks.

- SABC2 will start its election coverage with daily updates on political developments and election preparations both nationally and provincially. The programme will start broadcasting from eight weeks before the election date. Other special programmes include special slots on radio current affairs and special radio programmes covering town hall meetings that the SABC is organising around the country.
