DISCOP Africa exceeds expectations


With just over three weeks to go before the first DISCOP Africa launches, the organizes confirmed that 350 participants have already registered for the event. This number is well over their original estimate.

Launched by the organisers of the DISCOP and NATPE markets, the international conference is dedicated to the development of the TV content business in Africa. In addition to acquisitions and programming executives from African broadcasters and pay-TV platforms, some 100 television content sales organizations will be in attendance. Screen Africa’s February issue carries a report on the event which includes interviews with some the participants.

The three-day event, which includes a one-day conference, takes place at the Sofitel Terranga Hotel in Dakar, Senegal, from 25 to 27 February. Two days will be dedicated to pre-organised meetings between participants. Participants can also look forward to several social networking functions.

The massive growth of television advertising investment and the deployment of pay-TV platforms throughout the continent, makes Africa one of the world's most dynamic marketplaces right now.
