CNN, Multichoice Improve Media Awards to include Internet
Advanced technology features like Web2.0 and live blogging will be part of this year's CNN-MultiChoice Journalist of the Year awards ceremony.
This will be the first time that there will be live blogging during the event to provide updates to registered users throughout the three-day event.
"The move to include new media at the awards ceremony is an indication of our commitment to innovation. This will give journalists in Africa another platform to generate discussions and debates within the ever-changing technological and media landscapes," Eben Greyling, the president of MultiChoice Africa, said.
"This initiative brings a new dimension to the awards," Tony Maddox, the CNN international managing director, said, adding that CNN is always looking out for new technology. The competition received 836 entries from 38 countries in Africa.
