- MultiChoice is upgrading the software in viewer's decoders. During the month of August 2009, MultiChoice will release new software over the air to decoders for subscribers on the W4 satellite. The new software brings additional features and benefits to enhance your viewing experience including Widescreen functionality. Other innovations include stability improvements, Full widescreen support, Language Soundtrack support, XtraView / Remote Control Set-up enhancements, A change in the default UHF Frequency (from 46 to 63), Increase in the number of configurable networks (from 6 to 18), and a software alert when powering up the decoder (if newer software is available).

- SuperSport and the Premier Soccer League last week launched the third year of their five-year agreement and announced that their R1.6 billion broadcast partnership has transformed the domestic game ahead of the 2010 World Cup. SuperSport CEO Imtaiz Patel said 130 PSL matches will be televised live in the coming season. And SuperSport will now televise PSL games at the newly-refurbished Orlando, Dobsinville and Rand Stadiums ahead of them being utlised as World Cup training venues. It said the average viewership for PSL matches swelled by 30% year on year. ’We’ve helped transform the PSL into a world-class product. SuperSport has also helped put the product onto global television platforms, particularly in Europe,’ he said.
