- Senegalese news channel Canal Info News which stopped broadcasting in July 2009 has started broadcasting again from Wednesday 12th August at 13h30 from Dakar. A new generation transmitter allowing better regional coverage has been acquired and put in service to cover the Dakar and the Mbour area. The channel can be watched in Senegal via satellite (Intelsat) or via ADSL on “la TV d’Orange” (Orange TV). It can also be received in France via ADSL by subscribing to LiveBox from Orange, Canal 177.
- The Ethiopian Government sent a stiff protest to Kenya on Thursday, seeking to stop the Nation Media Group from airing a television programme on a rebel movement fighting the Addis Ababa Government.
- The Angolan Ministry of Social Communication is expanding the signals of the state-owned "Radio Nacional de Angola" (RNA) and "Televisao Publica de Angola" (TPA) to the districts of southern Cunene province this year.
