The launch took place at « Pavillon des Cinémas du Monde » (International Village). is a VOD online store devoted to films from Africa, about Africa, and of the diaspora. A legal, commercial downloading platform, available worldwide, that will guarantee fair revenue to African filmmakers and producers. includes exclusive features, such as a website-builder that will allow any African right-owner to set up his very own VOD store. mobiCINE’s mission is to bring cinema back to African popular urban audiences. It relies on a pioneering business model, pragmatically adapted to today’s African realities, in order to be competitive vs. piracy which has driven many cinemas to shut down. mobiCINE is implemented in partnership with the City of Dakar, The City of Bamako, the National Cinema Center of Mali, and the French Embassies in Mali and Senegal.
