Cannes: assistance program for development of feature films in Africa
Through its partnership with “Les Cinemas du Monde” Pavilion, the ACP Secretariat set up a special presentation of the program "Babylon International”, May 21, 2010.
Babylon International is an assistance program for development of feature films designed by Scenario Films and implemented for the first time in 2007.
The 2010 edition, based on a partnership between Scenario Films, Script House, Play Film and the Nigerian Film Corporation, supports producers of West Africa and Central Africa.
Through a series of workshops, the program's objective is to initiate the creation of a network among European professionals, West Africa and Central Africa immigrant professionals and representatives of the film industry of the two continents.
The goal, which coincides with those of the Pavilion Les Cinemas du Monde and the Secretariat of the ACP Group of States, is based on a simple but effective position: this upcoming network of professionals is essential to bring and promote new talents, new stories and new markets.
The presentation of Babylon International and its various workshops was followed by a screening of some teasers made under the 2010 program.
