- Africa in Motion (AiM) theme this year is 'Celebrations', in commemoration of 50 years of independence of 17 African countries, as well as celebrating the fifth birthday of the festival. AiM is a UK-based African film festival, which will feature more than 70 films - fiction features, shorts and documentaries - from 28 African countries over the 16 days of the event. It is taking place from 21 October to 5 November 2010 at Edinburgh's Filmhouse Cinema and other venues across the city.
- Life, Above All (Le Secret de Chanda), a South African Feature film directed by Oliver Schmitz, jiggles the knife in the wound by addressing the issue of HIV/AIDS in South Africa.
- The second season of ekasi - e.tv's top-ranking South African drama series - debuted on Monday August 9 at 9PM. The all-new 13 episodes are currently being filmed in and around various locations in Johannesburg townships, ranging from Soweto to Westbury to Leeuwkop.
