- Bernard Azria, MD of Cote Ouest – one of the largest distributors of audiovisual content in Africa including 200 very high-quality films from Africa – said he was delighted by MIPCOM 2010: “busier than last year, more deals volume, lots of interest for content quality”. MIPCOM this year welcomed a raft of international talent, as 12,400 delegates from over 100 countries gathered in Cannes, France. “We have seen an unprecedented number of entertainment stars at this year’s MIPCOM,” notes Laurine Garaude, Director of Reed MIDEM’s Television Division, adding that “Brands are thinking out of the box and seeing the huge potential of television, mobile, digital, Apps and Social Media to reach out to their customers.” MIPCOM Personality of the Year, Jon Feltheimer, urged delegates to embrace new economic models.

- On of MIPCOM 2010’s key trends is continued activity in emerging markets, with for example indie distributor OTF selling 500 hours to Africa.
