- The National Film and Video Foundation congratulates Lerato Moloisane and the Hopeville team on their nominations for the 8th International Emmy Awards.
Nominees were announced on Monday 04th of October 2010 by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences at Mipcom. Home Affairs is a South African television drama series created and produced by Roberta Durrant. It tells the story of nine very different women whose lives are interconnected by universal synchronicity. In the story, Moloisane plays the role of Katlego. The women's stories reflect the wide cultural range of South African women. The women each undertake a journey of self-discovery, connecting with each other in various and random ways. Moloisane has been nominated in the Best Performance by an Actress category for her outstanding role in Home Affairs, while Hopeville has been nominated in the TV Movie/ Mini-Series category.
- Directed by Lance Bangs and executive-produced by Spike Jonze, The Lazarus Effect chronicles the recovery of people who only a few years ago would have had no chance of survival. The English-language film is full of hope, yet a reminder that almost 4,000 people still die every day from AIDS in Africa, simply because the treatment is still not universally available. The documentary, which will be aired by HBO in the US and Channel 4 in the UK, is an important part of raising international awareness for World AIDS Day, on December 1.
