DStv: Popular holiday channel on screens in December

DStv Premium subscribers can look forward to the return of the popular holiday channel on DStv.  The M-199 channel, previously known as the M-Net holiday channel, gives subscribers the opportunity to catch up on their favourite series or movie that they might have missed during the year.

The channel will be available from 10 December 2010 to 9 January 2011 and will broadcast daily from 8am to 1am.

Aletta Alberts, General Manager Content at MultiChoice says: "This time of the year is all about providing the whole family with great entertainment. We believe that M-199 will add to the overall experience and give our subscribers more choice this festive season.”

Here's a brief look at the line-up:
• Family-friendly movies at 8am and 10am
• Midday medicals at 12 - Mercy I, followed by Private Practice III at 1pm and House VI at 2pm
• Afternoon movies at 3pm
― Friday musicals: High School Musical 3, Hannah Montana, The Jonas Brothers 3D Concert Experience, This is It (Michael Jackson) and Mamma Mia!
― Saturday superheroes: Hancock, X-men Origins: Wolverine, Hell Boy II: Golden Army, Dragon Ball: Evolution and Incredible Hulk
― Sunday bridal specials: Painted Veil, Bride Wars, Rachel Getting Married, Made of Honour and The Proposal
• Back-to-back series at 5pm
• Themed movies at 9pm
- Monday is comedy: Big Nothing, Mama's Boy, Baby Mama and Under Cover Brother
- Tuesday is drama: Slumdog Millionaire, Obsessed, The Deal and Comanche Moon
- Wednesday is action: District 9, Deception aka the Tourist List, Death Proof and Terminator Salvation (aka terminator)
- Thursday is chic flicks: Americanising Shelley, The Other End of the Line, Bella and Out of Time
• Monday, Wednesdays and Friday’s is Horror Hour at 11pm
• Sunday Series Omnibuses: Lost Final Season (four episodes per Sunday), The Pacific I (two episodes per Sunday) and Nurse Jackie (two episodes per Sunday)
