- Representing the Ministry of Culture and the Arts for the DRC, Ms. Jeannette Kavira Mapeera closed the first of the Congolese film week (Sefico) held from May 3 to 7 under the patronage of Prime Minister Adolphe Muzito at "The Zoo" Cultural Center in the council of Gombe. Mrs. Kavira noted that the results of this event should encourage DRC to become a center of influence for the film community. Professor and filmmaker Balufu Bakupa Kanyinda highlighted the absence of a legal framework to govern the corporation which should consolidate the relationship between fantasy and film popularity.
