- New film 'Ni Wakati' shines a light on Africa's history of resilience and its rich diversity through a journey with M1 of the prolific rap group Dead Prez and Umi of P.O.W. as they travel to East Africa and connect with the revolutionary youth movement Ukoo Flani Mau-Mau and the exiled former Black Panther leader Pete O'Neal. Running in competition, the screening will take place on Day 3, 20th June 11.30 at The House Of Wonders at ZIFF.

- In South Africa, 1 June 2011 saw the premiere of the Afrikaans musical comedy 'Ek Lief Jou' in Bloemfontein, where the movie's stars, local singer Kurt Darren, Belgian actress Ilse De Vis, Christina Storm (Egoli) and Andre Frauenstein (Eternity) were part of the VIP guest list, which included media and invited guests. The romantic comedy film opened at Ster-Kinekor theatres nationwide on Friday 3 June and offers cinema-goers an emotional journey, dealing with life and love, as well as being true to yourself and others.
