- 24 November 2011: The Cape Film Commission (CFC) has announced that it has secured the rights for the City of Cape Town to host the semi-final judging of the 40th edition of the International Emmy awards.

- This year the AfricaCom conference - which included the AfricaCast track focused on broadcast in Africa - saw numbers increase by 30% to an impressive 6,000 attendees from 105 countries.  Furthermore the event welcomed 1545 companies, a 15% increase on the previous year. AfricaCom 2011 was a record breaking year for Informa, its organiser. More here: 

- Orange Côte d'Ivoire Telecom said that the new ACE cable will route simultaneously the equivalent of 370 million telephone calls or 75,000 TV channels. It will boost the capacity of Africans to watch web TV and IPTV.
