Nigeria: GLO Fixed Line Extends to Benin City Allowing TV/VoD Glo Mobile says it has extended its fixed line services to Benin City, Edo State capital, through its broad access network, the company said in a statement.

In addition to clear voice and data services, some of the offerings that will ultimately be available on Glo Broad Access are video conferencing, call centre services, video-on-demand, broadcast TV, games and video mail box, the statement added.

The fixed line service which was launched in the city last quarter of 2011 currently covers residential, commercial as well as industrial areas of the state capital. These include Government Reservation Areas (GRA), Government House, Gapiona Area, Benin-Agbo Road, Adesuwa Road and Etete Road. Other areas covered include the entire business districts of Mission Road, Akpapava, Forestry and Ring Road.

Head of Glo Broad Access, Karun Menon, said in the statement issued in Lagos that deployment of Glo's broad access strengthens the company's position as the leading provider of Information, Communication Technology (ICT) services in Nigeria and that it constantly strives to delight its customers.

"This is one way our technology will serve our customers better, Menon said, adding that several high networth customers have already been connected to the network in the city."
