- The Tanzania Media Fund (TMF) has disbursed institutional grants to nine media outlets and production companies, totaling 1.38 bn. A statement issued by the fund said each beneficiary of the competitive grants promised to deliver according to TMF expectations by implementing their projects in line with their work plans. This now brings to 67 the total number of institutional grantees since TMF inception in 2008.

- The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) enjoyed monopoly of television broadcasting for many years. The order changed in the 90s when government liberalized the industry, throwing up competition. In this interview, the acting Director General of the NTA Alhaji Musa Maiyaki says the development has made it to look inward.

- Egypt: Information Minister Salah Abdel-Maqsoud said on Tuesday 13/11/2012 Egypt seeks to expand its relations with China at all levels as Beijing is a strong ally for the Egyptian people. Egypt also looks forward to increasing the number of Chinese tourists to one million a year, the minister said during a ceremony to launch a Chinese language teaching program, which will be aired on the higher education TV channel as of November 21. A program to teach the Arabic language will be transmitted on the Chinese channels during the coming period, the minister added. source
