Kenya: Omotola Spills On Her New Reality Show
In an interview with Word Is, iconic Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde spoke about her new TV reality show. Dubbed Omotola: The Real Me, the show gives audiences an up close and exclusive look at her personal life as she launches her latest movies, expands her business interests and takes on all the challenges of being a ground-breaking celebrity with fans across the continent.
The show was shot on location in Lagos, London, Ghana, Miami and Kingston (Jamaica). Asked what inspired her to get into the reality TV business.
Omotola told Word Is, "It's another form of entertainment and I am an entertainer," adding, "(The show's reception by audiences) has been unprecedented. So much that they have had to increase the number of airings and channels its available on."
The reality show premiered on December 6 and airs every Thursday on DSTV. The 13-episode show will feature Omotola's "life" and "at some point they (children and husband) will be featured," she said, "You will get to see everything. What we are doing is very real. It's basically my whole life. The parts where I'm taking care of the kids, the parts where I'm taking care of the home, the parts when I am working, the parts where I'm yelling. It's crazy. My life is crazy!"
Omotola reckons that the scenes in the show that make her cringe are "so far, the second episode where I had a fight with my director, Mr. Christian."
The actress, who has been branded the sexiest African woman and even bagged awards for it, was also mentioned in the lyrics of D'Banj's award winning hit Oliver Twist thinks that "it's very flattering and it's nice to be recognised and I wish him all the best."
