France: D8 holds the rights to broadcast the African Cup of Nations

Broadcast

From 18 January to 10 February, the football world will live under African time on the occasion of the 29th Africa Cup of Nations (also referred to as the African Cup of Nations or African Nations Cup, officially CAN - French for “Coupe d'Afrique des Nations”).

This will be a high level competition to follow on TV! This year in France, D8 holds the rights to broadcast matches in the African Cup of Nations in 2013 and 2015. (…) D8 does not provide a comprehensive broadcast of all matches in the competition, but only the most expected. The first appointment is set on Saturday, January 19th at 16:50 for the opening game of the CAN 2013 between South Africa and Cape Verde.

D8 will then broadcast quarter-finals, semi-finals and obviously the final.
African football fans lacking the other programs can always turn to other channels that offer other matches.

Pay TV channel Trace Sports launches the month of the vuvuzela with four special evenings. Between January 18 and February 10, the channel will dedicate Friday nights to the African Cup. On January 18 at 20:45 it will broadcast a CAN of stars, with special unreleased magazines devoted to Didier Drogba among others. On 25 January, it will be the turn of great absents, Samuel Eto'o heading the list, and on February 1 the focus will be on “crazy fans”.

Finally, the 8 February will be the opportunity to plunge into the world of 2013 stars such as the Ayew brothers who operate in France at the Olympic Team of Marseille.

On “Equipe 21”, a sport channel part of Group l’Equipe”, CAN will be addressed in all its sports’ programs.
