The second annual Jozi Film Festival took place over the weekend – twenty three films were screened at three venues across Johannesburg – The Bioscope Independent Cinema, Villa Arcadia and Kliptown.

"We kicked off the festival at The Bioscope on Friday night with Fanie Fourie’s Lobola. Akin Omotoso, winner of last year’s Best Feature Film Award for Man On Ground, officially opened JFF2013." “This is a great city and a great city should see itself reflected on screen.” said Omotoso.

"We had sold out screenings of Fanie Fourie’s Lobola, Orania and Extraction. Trish Malone’s masterclass in scriptwriting was also standing room only. And we are thrilled to say we had about 300 people attend the Kliptown screenings."

"Last night we held our Awards ceremony at Villa Arcadia in Parktown, a venue made possible through our partnership with Etana Insurance who have backed the Jozi Film Festival from its inception." John Vlismas hosted the event and proved once again to be the perfect choice of MC.

And the winners of the Jozi Film Festival 2013 are:

Best Documentary Short Film – Siphe Bongwana for Energy is Power.
Best Documentary Feature Film – Tobias Lindner for Orania
