- The Cape Town and Winelands International Film Festival launched the Cape Town FilmMart in Cannes recently with the objective of bringing local producers together with potential partners and financiers from South Africa’s coproduction partners: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, etc.
- World-renowned Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi’s shooting project for his religious blockbuster Prophet Muhammad in South Africa has been finished. After five days shooting in the city of Bela-Bela in the Limpopo Province of South Africa, Majidi announced end of the project and returned to Iran.

On Wednesday, 12 June 2013, 18h30, AfricAvenir Windhoek and the FNCC present the Namibian film premiere of ‘Africa Shafted: Under one roof’ by South African Director Ingrid Martens, South Africa 2011, 50 min. The film purports to look at xenophobia through situating itself in the intense and somewhat claustrophobic surrounding of the tower lifts, which link the 54 stories, housing nationalities from all across Africa.
