Ghana deputy Minister commits to smooth digital migration

Regulation & Policy

Ghana’s deputy Minister for Communications, Victoria Hammah, has pledged Government’s commitment to the smooth implementation of the Digital Terrestrial Transmission (DTT) process in all television stations in the country.

The migration to DTT, which would eventually hook all television stations in the country onto one transmission machine, has a deadline of December 2014, allowing the government an additional six months to attend to residual issues ahead of the June 2015 global deadline for migration.

Speaking during a tour of local television stations to familiarise herself with their readiness for the digital migration, Hammah appealed to the stations to collaborate with Government to achieve its stated goal.
