- ‘L'Organisation internationale de la Francophonie’ (OIF) resumes its action in favour of francophones audiovisual content from the South. Over the past 2 years, OIF grants and supports have enabled six operators to generate over 225 000 euros revenues from programmes’ sales. A new call for proposals has been launched since 8th. - Powering audiovisual devices: According to the International Energy Agency, sub-Saharan Africa will require more than $300 billion in investment to achieve universal electricity access by 2030. The US government’s “Power Africa” initiative, which includes Tanzania as one of six priority countries for investment, will commit more than $7 billion over the next five years in financial support to African countries in their goals to increase power generation. - After a successful “Nollywood Week Paris 2013”, the Nigerian and African film festival will return in Q2 2014 at Cinéma L' Arlequin in Paris, the organiser recently confirmed to Balancing Act. This year, conferences will be reinforced and networking sessions will be set up to facilitate content distribution trade.
