Ghana: 'MTN Heroes of Change' Now On TV
MTN Heroes of Change, a mission by MTN to identify and recognize heroes who have provided unconditional services to their communities, has started showing on several television channels in the country.
After about six months of research and filming all over the country, the 13 episode series has started showing on Crystal TV (7.30pm); Metro TV (8.00pm); Multi TV (8.00pm); eTV Ghana (8.00pm) and TV Africa (8.30pm).
Directed by Ivan Quashigah for his Farmhouse media production house, the series will be telecast on Sundays over the next 13 weeks.
Launched in July last year at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, the project is an initiative of the MTN Ghana Foundation that sought out men and women as well as young and old who have sacrificed their energy, time and other resources to improve their communities and helped to brighten the lives of people around them.
Members of the public were encouraged to nominate their heroes. Teams were then dispatched into the communities to verify their stories.
MTN Ghana Foundation sources have explained that the public were asked to nominate their heroes who had dedicated themselves to making life better for people in their communities in five clearly spelt-out categories.
The categories were segmented into community crusader, social protection, health, environment and education.
Cynthia Lumor, Corporate Services Executive at MTN Ghana has said that the Heroes of Change is an important project which MTN believed would make a great impact on this country.
