- The Association for Transformation in Film and Television (ATFT) is proud to announce the first ever South African Indies stand at the European Film Market (EFM) 2014 in Berlin, Germany.
- The NFVF extends a call to the industry to nominate the 08th South African Film and Television Awards Lifetime Achievers. This year, the Lifetime Achievers will be revealed at a glamorous SAFTAs ceremony to be held on the 5th of April 2014.
- On January 2, 2014, it was announced that Burundian filmmaker Léonce Ngabo represents the African film distribution agency Udala-media (based in London, UK) in Central and East Africa. This agency specializes in selling African films online and it has a catalogue of 50 films so far. Udala-media is in talks with Unesco, Organisation internationale de la francophonie, le Centre national du cinéma in France. Movies from Burundi could from now on be under contract to be sold to retail chains operating on the internet (VoD?). The race to buy African film rights in on. Source: burundi-agnews.org
