The TNS-Sofres study reports outstanding performance in audience from DRC for the Africa 24 TV channel, positioned as the first channel for Global Information on Africa . Of the managers and executives' segments, the channel's audience gets 37.4 points, 15.1 points for daily audience and 42.7 points for weekly audience in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Constant Nemale, Founding President of the Africa 24 TV channel said "True model of influence in Africa, the Africa 24 channel targets a potential audience of 80 million viewers in 2015". Mediaset has played down reports that it is on the brink of forging a wide-ranging pay TV alliance with Al Jazeera and Canal+ Group by saying that detailed discussions of its pay TV plans are still in progress and will be reviewed by its board and that of Mediaset Espa'a at their next meeting.

International Film Festival Vues d'Afrique 2014: The 30th edition of the Festival Vues d'Afrique will be held from April 25 to May 4, 2014 in Montreal, Quebec and Ottawa. This year, the organizers have decided to pay homage to the FESPACO festival. Full story here: 


Swedish singer-songwriter and rapper Neneh Cherry has signed to narrate the music documentary Fonko about music revolutions that have come from Africa. Switzerland based worldwide distributor and executive producer First Hand Films is selling the documentary which comes as one 90 minute film or a six or three part series. Full story here:
