StarTimes Media plans to increase coverage of its digital television services to the rural areas to net more customers.

StarTimes said it will expand its network to target a coverage of at least 80 per cent of people in rural areas by the end year.

The digital TV provider said subscribers across Machakos, Migori, Trans-Nzoia, Laikipia and Muranga counties will have access to pay television and free to air digital television services.

"We intend to extend the reach of our channel offering to more Kenyans with the goal of growing market share and giving rich content to enhance television viewing experience", Marketing vice president, Hans Han noted.

The firm said it will invest over $75 million (Sh6.51 billion) so as to achieve a 100 per cent network cover in the country.
