- South African pay-TV provider, Siyaya TV, which recently won the ZAR 1 billion (USD 94.5 million) deal from South African Football Association’s (SAFA), plans to work with other broadcasters including SABC and e.tv, to provide coverage of the national football teams’ matches which starts in May next year. The move comes as an attempt to avoid political backlash after SABC lost the broadcast rights. With the six-year SAFA deal, Siyaya TV now has the broadcast rights to all national team fixtures of Bafana Bafana and Banyana Banyana, and fixtures of the junior national teams.
