DW signs content deal with Tuluntulu

German broadcaster Deutsche Welle (DW) and Tuluntulu have teamed up to provide DW's English TV channel as streaming content for mobile devices in Africa.The new partnership between DW and Tuluntulu will make it easier for mobile users in Africa to tune in to DW free of charge – no matter where they are. Tuluntulu is a mobile app that provides a range of TV streams at a lower bandwidth, making content available on mobile as well as wirelessn networks.


Tuluntulu is an African focused mobile streaming platform that can be used to reach people globally via their smartphones or tablets. For the end user the app is free to download (Android and iOS), free to watch (no subscriptions), 100 percent free on Wi-Fi, with data costs only if connected via a mobile network. The business model, which relies mainly on advertising, is designed to maximise audience reach and engagement. The platform currently has 12 streaming TV channels in 24/7.
