Regulation & Policy

Experts from Africa are meeting in Abuja in preparation for the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) 2015 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-15) to be held in Geneva in November. Nigerian ICT Minister Omobola Johnson said the meeting would enable member states develop strategies on how to manage spectrum in their various countries. She emphasised that the issue of spectrum was very important for Africa and she urged member states to develop a strategy on how to manage it effectively for Africa's benefit, CAJ News reported.

Johnson also called on delegates at the meeting to prepare views based on relevant technical studies and their experiences in the field of frequency spectrum management as it related to the African region. She enjoined member states to collaborate and fight for a common course for Africa's ICT development.
