FAZ ink Muvi TV deal

THE Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has partnered with Muvi Television to start televising Division One league games.

Speaking on Muvi TV’s Tuesday Sport, FAZ communications manager Nkweto Tembwe said the live broadcast of games will enhance the development of the sport.

Tembwe said the deal will also help Division One teams to expose players.
He commended Muvi TV for the cooperation.

“Football is Zambia’s biggest sport. It is watched almost by everyone. At least we will be able to see a lot of talent from Division One teams. We are happy that after a long run, the move is now coming to reality.

“It is our desire that people will start watching Division One football from their respective homes. We also want to see how we can bring the image of the sport to other parts of the country,” Tembwe said.

Tembwe urged the football fraternity to rally behind the association as it strives to develop football from the lower ranks.

“It’s everyone’s responsibility to see that football, especially from the lower ranks succeeds. I believe there is more competition from the lower ranks than the Super Division,” he said.

He said the first televised match will be this Saturday’s Week 10 match between Kabwe Warriors and City of Lusaka at Godfrey Chitalu Stadium.
